Privacy Policy for GCSE Quest
Welcome to GCSE Quest (the "Game"). This Game is developed by greyhood ("we", "us", or "our").
We care deeply about privacy, especially when it comes to children. Because our Game is designed for players of all ages, including children under 18, we have built it from the ground up to protect your privacy. This policy explains what happens when you play our Game.
1. The Short Version (Core Principle)
We do not collect, store, or share any of your personal information.
- You do not need to create an account to play.
- Your game progress is saved entirely on your own smartphone.
- We cannot see who you are, what you type, or how you play.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
Unlike many other apps, our Game strictly avoids collecting tracking data. We do not collect:
- Names, email addresses, or phone numbers.
- Device IDs, Android IDs, or advertising identifiers.
- Precise location data.
3. How Our Backend Server Works (The Internet Connection)
The Game requires an internet connection for one specific reason: to download questions from our secure backend server based on the game difficulty you choose. When your game requests a question:
- Anonymous Requests: The Game only sends generic game information to our server (such as "difficulty=medium"). It never sends any information about you or your device.
- No IP Logging: Our backend server (built on Flask) is configured to automatically discard and ignore your IP address. We do not store, log, or track server connection histories.
4. Local Data Storage
All of your gameplay progress, unlocked levels, and high scores are saved locally on your device's internal storage using secure local files. This data never leaves your smartphone.
5. No Third-Party Analytics or Advertising
To ensure a safe environment for younger players, this Game contains:
- NO third-party advertising or tracking networks.
- NO integrated marketing analytics (such as Google Analytics or Firebase).
- NO in-app purchases or hidden fees.
6. Compliance with Global Standards
Our data practices strictly adhere to:
- The UK Children’s Code (Age-Appropriate Design Code) and UK GDPR.
- The US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
- Google Play’s Families Policy.
